1.8 TWITTER AS A VALID SOURCE OF INFORMATION

Would you consider using Twitter as a valid source of information?

No, Twitter is a social network where everyone form any location or vcorner of the world is allowed to create an account and share thier views.
Twitter is made up of people who use their acciounts everyday and share views about everything that is happening in our daily lives in their own views and perspectives and of which each and every person is entitled to their own opinion about everything that happens in our daily lives.
I would never advice a person to use Twitter os any other social network as a source of information because it only contains about peoples views and opinions, not stated and accurate facts about things.
When a person has got a question/s about a particular topic that is being researched, I would advuce that a person must evaluate the questions before, reasin being is that you first need to strategise on the take of the question then contemplate on the question and generate ideas before relying on goolge and bing for the stated facts.

1.7 WHAT DOES FACEBOOK SAY?

WHAT DOES FACEBOOK SAY IT WILL DO TO PROTECT MINORS WHO ARE USING THE FACEBOOK PLATFORM?

Facebook’s new, more public privacy settings are here to stay. And there are a lot of details that you should make sure you’re clear about. Otherwise, you may be exposing (or not exposing) the information you intend to.
The company has spent a lot of time communicating about the changes, and it has also been working to upgrade its help pages so people can find exactly what they’re looking for. You may already be familiar with the settings and the changes. But this comprehensive, step-by-step guide to 17 key settings might help you quickly spot what changes Facebook has made, and what changes you should make as a result.

Facebook has also promised to make a few changes by frequently asking questions on each activated account on facebook before getting access into the log in platform just to ensure that minors are bieng protected at all times and are not using the facebook platform in  a wrongfull manner as it sometimes contains scenes that are viewer adviced so to try and make facebook as content as possible, there will be a few changes in the efforts to protect minors who use the platform.

My view on this new effort that will take place is that I think it will be securing but not sufficiently enough because at time you find minors with high IQ levels who can somehow find answers to the questions that are being asked before gaining access into the log in platform or sometimes trick their way to going into sites and pages that are viewer advised so i would personally suggest that the questions must be based on maths or quize questions that are tricky in a way that a minor will not be able to figure out what is required in the question stated above before gaining acccess in the facebook platform.

1.6 FIVE KEY TRENDS

                              FIVE KEY TRENDS

Transmedia Storytelling

Brands (and individual bloggers) will need to start ramping it up and telling their stories across multiple platforms, from blog to video to Twitter and back around again.
Currently a hot topic amongst filmmakers and game developers, transmedia storytelling will start to enter the mainstream of marketing in 2013, as brands start to leverage multiple platforms and properties simultaneously in support of the same campaign or goals. In a practical sense, transmedia storytelling for brands will incorporate visual platforms such as Instagram and video into campaigns; more broadly, brands should start to think about gaming and augmented reality (see next trend).
The emergence of transmedia will be a big shift for many digital marketers, most of whom are only recently (and perhaps reluctantly) comfortable with the idea of telling the brand story through the written word of blogs, eBooks, Twitter and Facebook.  Add in photos, videos and possibly games, and the digital marketer’s job scope is going to change dramatically.

Augmented Reality

Google wants you to be able to wear glasses that annotate or gamify your world, and they’ve already got an app which does just that.
So marketers, wise up.
If the C-suite already knows what this is, you need to too. They’re interested in it because many luxury brands are already using AR, and where luxury goes, the rest of consumers will typically follow.
For most digital marketers, AR is something to consider when developing mobile apps, creating new ad campaigns, or extending the brand through transmedia offerings.  A cool and clever AR app could be just the right thing to propel your brand ahead in 2013.

Influence

While this is not yet perfect, some platforms, including Appinions  and, theoretically, Klout, have managed to bring together social media metrics with other factors including whether or not their opinions manifest in major publications or if they have a presence on Wikipedia.
The former assign an individual a score which supposedly represents their influence level – but I personally find it impossible to believe in any system which assigns a score to the hair of a fictional character.
Digital marketers who want to work with influencers need to figure out which platform to rely on in order to determine who will be the best fit for their brand or campaign.

Big Data

For digital marketers of the analytics and data persuasion, the growing corporate focus on Big Data won’t be much of a shift. SEO people and marketing analysts have been using internal and external data for years to help tell marketing and brand stories, and glean valuable insights out of numbers.  For the rest of us, who are “gut” or creative marketers, Big Data will represent a sea change in how we approach our work.
The ability to take sales, customer, or even Twitter data and turn it into patterns and segments is at the crux of what Big Data is and does. All of this data is no longer locked deep in the bowels of your corporate systems, and so now you need to figure out what you want to get out of it to inform your marketing efforts.

Evolution of the Marketing Team

All marketers will be expected to at least understand social media, though specialists will continue to do the day-to-day heavy lifting of social media execution (as with SEO gurus).
And, as my colleague Nichole Kelly recently wrote, we’re also seeing a huge shift in how people work, how teams are formed and managed, and where and when they work. So your team may soon be distributed across time and space, and you’d better be ready for that shift too.

1.4 INTERNET INFRASTRUCURE

Internet infrastructure - It is a collective term for all hardware and software systems that constitute essential components in the operation of the Internet.

Physical transmission lines of all types, such as wired, fiber optic and microwave links, along with routing equipment, the accompanying critical software services like the Domain Name System (DNS), Email, website hosting, authentication and authorization, storage systems, and database servers are considered critical Internet components.

If any of these systems and services were to be interrupted for a significant period of time on the Internet...as we know it would collapse.

Connection type- Dial-up internet access

Also called dial-up access, an analog Internet connection is both economical and slow.
Dial-up is an analog connection because data is sent over an analog,  public-switched telephone network.
The modem converts received analog data to digital and vice versa.
Because dial-up access uses normal telephone lines the quality of the connection is not always good and data rates are limited.
Typical Dial-up connection speeds range from 2400 bps to 56 Kbps.

1.3 MEDIA TYPES

1.3 This is my phone.

                                                                   Blackberry Z10

  BBM
Almost synonymous with BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger(BBM) is a huge reason why people buy BlackBerry.  The unrivaled reliability, integration, data conservation, features, security and ubiquity are the primary reasons for its success.  On BlackBerry 10, BBM has been completely revamped to follow the BlackBerry 10 UI.

USER INTERFACE
The BlackBerry 10 user interface is centered on three main views: the “Hub”, multi-tasking pane, and the app grid.
The Hub is the messaging and communication center for every type of notification.  Whether its phone calls, emails, twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, BBM, texts, appointments, tasks, it’s all there.  The Hub itself is an aggregation of all these types of media into a single list

CALENDER
The native BlackBerry 10 calendar has a similar look to the calendar app on the PlayBook.  You have your typical Day, Week, and Month views.  In the Week and Day views, you can pinch to zoom to adjust how much of the day is in view.  The Month view has a neat feature that shows larger numbers for the days that have the most amount of appointments and events.
The settings menu allows your personalize your calendar just the way it suits you.
MUSIC
For music, the Z10 has a dedicated music app that can play songs, organize them into playlists.  Par for the course for any music app.  Because of the DLNA support, you can now play them wirelessly to another device with DLNA support.  You can also share them via the share menu in a whole bunch of ways.  The songs do take a second to play, which is a little slower than I had expected.  This could be due to the read speed of the memory card however.
You can go back to the “Now Playing” screen by clicking the icon on the top right of the screen.  Through the general settings menu, you can toggle to skip songs by holding down the volume up or down keys.

CAMERA
The BlackBerry 10 camera is one of the main selling features of the Z10.
There are three modes that the camera runs in.  the first is your typical “Single shot” mode.
The second the “Time Shift” camera mode is a feature that BlackBerry has been showing off for months prior to the launch of BlackBerry 10. Using patented technology from Scalado (now owned by Nokia), the feature allows you to adjust your photo and the faces it contains independently in time.

MAPS
The native Blackberry 10 maps apps, on paper is a combination of BlackBerry’s previous maps app and their BlackBerry Traffic app.  The panning and zooming about the map is usually fast and fluid.  The GPS kicked in right away to instantly find my location within a few meters.  There are two main tabs at the bottom of the screen: “Maps” and “My Places”.  The “Maps” tab obviously displays the maps.  The “My Places” tab is what previous BlackBerry users would recognize as “BlackBerry Traffic”.  Simply put, it’s just a list of favourite locations that you can navigate too.  The app also reads the addresses of you contacts so you can navigate to them if their address exists on the phone.  What’s different this time around is the fact that you have visual turn-by-turn navigation instead of just a voice telling you when to turn.

GAMES
With the acquisition of Scoreloop a while ago, BlackBerry has made it clear it wants to take gaming seriously.  The games app on BlackBerry 10 is a social gaming network like Xbox live and Game Center on iOS.  Games is a cloud-based service, allowing you to save precious game progress, scores, and unlock achievements.  You can add friends from your timeline, check their achievements

FILE MANAGER
The native manager is the type of application you really don’t want to use unless you absolutely have to.  On a mobile device, it is typically a pain.  On BlackBerry 10, you can open, copy, move, rename, zip, share and check the properties of any file within the file manager.  It is much, much better than the garbage version on the PlayBook Tablet OS.
The functions within the File Manager are easy to use and cover most of what you would need in any file manager

PICTURES
The pictures app is organized into three sections: “Recent”, “Camera” and “Albums”.  The first two are self-explanatory, and the last one simply groups your pictures by source.  To edit a photo you’re looking at, simply press the pencil icon at the bottom and you’re brought into the picture editor.
The picture editor allows you to enhance and apply filters a picture that you select.  There are the usual things to adjust such as saturation, contrast, brightness and host of others.  The effects can be either selected or literally dragged over the photo to help you see the difference.  Pictures can also be cropped, rotated as well.  The app is fun to use and works great
